Prist Acrylic, Plastic and Glass Cleaner - 13 oz
Prist Acrylic, Plastic and Glass Cleaner - 13 oz

Formulated specifically for all types of AVIATION windscreens

When we developed a windscreen cleaner, we formulated one that would attack tough surface grime - without harming the delicate finish of a transparency. One that would, unlike a lot of cleaners, work equally well on all transparency surfaces without harm.

Prist Acrylic, Plastic and Glass Cleaner works safely and easily on all acrylic, stretched acrylic, polycarbonate, glass and coated glass aircraft windscreens. And it works inside and outside the aircraft, and on metal and vinyl, without harming painted surfaces.

  • Exceeds military specifications
  • Dissolves grease and sticky residue.
  • Contains no abrasives.
  • Contains anti-static compound to prevent attracting dirt & damaging particles.
  • Dispenses as foam, so work areas are easily defined.

Prist cleaner is tough on dirt - and gentle on everything else.
No more abrasive cleaners - no more solvents

Most general purpose cleaners contain harsh solvents that will eventually cause windscreen hazing or streaking - especially on non-glass surfaces.

Prist cleaner contains no abrasive cleaning agents or propellants. And unlike other cleaners, it dispenses as a foam, so work areas are easily defined.

Prist cleaner effectively breaks down and removes stubborn grease, and dissolves sticky organic residue from insects and birds. Its fast-acting formulation provides tough cleaning power with a minimum of scrubbing.

And Prist cleaner also contains an anti-static compound that prevents the buildup of static charge, which can attract damaging airborne particles that scratch surfaces during cleaning.

How To Use Prist Cleaner

The best way to increase the lifespan of a windscreen is to clean it properly.

Always flood the area with water to wash away surface dirt, and, using hands or fingertips, attempt to loosen any residue adhering to the transparency.

Apply Prist cleaner to one area at a time, then wipe away with a soft, non-synthetic cloth. Genuine chamois or 100% cotton terrycloth or flannel are good choices. Never use paper towels, which are highly abrasive and will cause hairline scratches.

Cleaning with a circular motion can cause glare rings, so use an up and down motion. Folding a cloth to expose a clean area after each pass will prevent scratching from dirt that accumulates on the cloth itself.

After it has completely dried, applying a thin coat of hard wax to the transparency will reduce water absorption in flight, and help prevent pitting. But between waxings, the anti-static contained in Prist cleaner minimizes the negative electrical charge built up during flight, and helps repel dust and dirt.
