The Telex TEL-66T is a noise-cancelling aircraft communication microphone. It consists of a dynamic microphone cartridge, transistor amplifier, and push-to-talk switch in a rugged, black plastic case. A hanger bracket and mounting hardware are provided with the microphone.

The Telex 66T microphone provides excellent noise cancellation and speech intelligibility in moderate noise environments. The microphone discriminates against all sounds more than 1/2-inch away.

The microphone is gain adjustable through an opening in the back of the microphone using a small, flat-blade screwdriver. The microphone is supplied with an adhesive label which may be placed over this opening after adjustment to prevent tampering.

The TEL-66T has a straight PJ-068 plug. The 66TRA is identical to the 66T, except that it has a molded right-angle plug. Both, the 66T and 66TRA are approved for aircraft use under Federal Aviation Agency TSO C-58. Cord length is five feet.
